#SupportLocal: Meet Alyssa from Girlsourced

I’m not one for the feminist movement, but it is no secret that being a #girlboss has its disadvantages. I can whine about it all day, but I am a firm believer that actions are better than words.

As part of our #supportlocal (and of course, women in business) initiative, we will be speaking with friends of Lily & Lou and sharing stories of their journeys with you! We spoke to Alyssa, Co-Founder and CEO of Girlsourced, a new community platform that gives you access to professional styling tips from qualified fashion stylists. Q: In a few words, could you describe what inspired Girlsourced?

Women, women, women. I think it's important that we have a community of authentic women, who would foster a supportive environment for each of us to flourish in. Fashion is a language that everyone speaks, so my partners and I are hoping to engage women through our interactive application and styling services. Hopefully, they'd be able to discover their style and gain confidence.

Sustainability is important and we want to steer consumers towards making better purchase choices with personal advice from our fashion stylists.

Q: As a founder to a styling platform, how would you describe your personal style?

I’m a style chameleon, hah! My style varies depending on what the occasion calls for - athleisure for casual days ending with a trip to the gym, or rocker chic for days that require me to put out a badass vibe.

But I do have a soft spot for sexy pieces that show off a hint of skin. /wink/

Q: What’s your ultimate goal for Girlsourced?

Girlsourced is all about girl power, so I hope that it becomes successful as a supportive and collaborative platform for women. We should feel empowered to explore and nurture our individual sense of style and confidence in a positive environment!

Q: If you could have a super power, what would that be and why?

I would love to teleport to anywhere I want. Between chauffeuring kids and my work responsibilities, I find myself spending a great amount of time on the road, which can be so annoying on a jam-packed day.

My partners are based in Austria and Germany, so we can’t always meet one another face-to-face. Teleportation would be such a treat!
